I had one such experience. The memory of this journey continues to give pleasure to my mind even after several years. My first travel in a train came when I went to visit my aunt who lives in Kolkata. I had never travelled by a train and I had a long wish to do so. I had finally got the opportunity and that too I was to travel alone. On the day of the departure I was butterflies in my stomach as was excited to the brim. The train reservation was done by my dad. The train departed at 10 a.m. Luck was with me and I got the window seat. I enjoyed the passing scenery. The sights of numerous rivers, bridges. Countryside, evergreen paddy fields, lush green tea gardens, vast plains, etc, kept me enchanted. I was also lucky with my co-passengers who were a bunch of college students. They were a friendly bunch and their lively conversation and witty jokes kept me happy We exchanged tasty snacks and food. It was like a bonus to me. The journey seemed swift and interesting. When we arrived at our destination we exchanged our mail ids and phone numbers. I have till date kept in touch with them. I have now come to the conclusion that a journey by train is among the most enjoyable journeys. This has remained the most memorable journey of my life.
