Adventure of Riding a Cycle

I am very fond of cycling. Rain attracts me a lot. I am besides myself with joy when it rains. I get a chance to go on my cycle ride. On the second Saturday of last September our school was closed. The monsoon had already touched my town. When I got up in the morning, I found the sky was still dark and cloudy. The gusty wind was adding thrills to the weather . Father was about to go to his office and so he asked me to go with him to the nearest market and bring some medicines for my granny who was not feeling well. Considering the weather, I immediately agreed to go provided I was allowed to take my bicycle which was about 20 days old. Though my mother hesitated to allow me the privilege of my bicycle I succeeded in persuading my father. My father asked me to go ahead of him and wait at chemist’s shop. I did the same. He came, gave me medicines and left for his office. I was a free bird now and it also began to rain. I took the medicine bag and took my favourite route to come back home.

The path that I took boasts of many twists, ups and slopes which made my ride romantic. On a slope I rode my bicycle at the maximum speed and as a result my happiness was short lived. I slipped into a roadside ditch and fractured my hand. Although I am well now my parents are still apprehensive about allowing me to ride my bicycle on busy roads. I am anxious to regain their confidence. It will now take some time to change their opinion. I am afraid I’ll to miss my bicycle and its beautiful ride in upcoming monsoon season.
